A 19thC Austrian cold painted bronze depicting a stork building a nest. Very well observed and in very good and original condition and bearing a stamp, "Geschutzt", under the tail feathers. Pronounced "guess-shutst," the term is an abbreviation of gesetzlich geschutt, a German phrase that translates as "legally protected" or "copyrighted." 150mm high, 145mm wide and 90mm deep. Austrian. Circa 1870.
