An Outstanding Pair Of Gillows shell back Hall Chairs. Raised on reeded sabre legs with panel seats and beautifully carved shell backs and painted inscription, around a sunburst, in Latin which reads "Propositi Tenax" which roughly translates as " Never Quit". In very good and original condition. 850mm high, 390mm wide and 470mm deep. English. Circa 1815.
